Loft 142 has arrived in West Harlem with all the bells and whistles! This past Thursday, Sept. 3rd, friends, family, and players in the bar industry came together for drinks and hors d’oeuvres to usher in a new kind of entertainment for Hamilton Heights. With music pumping by DJ Danny Nunez, and hosted by one of the hilarious Divas of NYC, supporters danced and noshed on sliders, buffalo wings, and other tasty appetizers. If the open bar and beats weren’t enough to encourage invitees to move to the bass, gogo dancers on the bar showed how it was done. Party goers were dressed to impress, soaking in the lively atmosphere permeated with an expert blend of Latin music and remixes. In a thoughtful foresight, cds were also handed out with the custom mix for attendees to have their own dance parties at home or jam while riding through the streets.

The bar opened it’s doors on June 11th but never had an official coming out event. As noted earlier this year by Harlem Bespoke, Loft 142 was coming to the neighborhood as it’s first new gay establishment in a very long time. With the success of Castro Bar in Inwood, it’s no surprise that Loft 142 offers prime LGBT entertainment and shares some of the same owners. Rocking an exclusive night club feel and regular rotation of DJs, this gastropub definitely has the makings to be the newest local hot spot.

As a regular patron of Loft 142 before the opening, I can also vouch for the locale as a great spot to have a beer during happy hour, watch a game, or grab a drink for a girls night out. A wide variety of locals regularly attend either for a casual hangout or a easy come down after work. The sangria is the best in the neighborhood, with calamari and wings to rival any in the city. Also, Loft 142 is now the only neighborhood bar to offer strictly local beers on draft. Whether you want to party on Friday nights or enjoy a low key drink during the week, head uptown for a guaranteed fun time in Hamilton Heights.
